During my training, when I first met children who had cancer, I felt drawn to working with people with this disease and with their loved ones. During the last 17 years, I have counseled many people with cancer. I understand how frightened, alone and overwhelmed people can feel. Working with a seasoned psycho-oncologist can ease these aspects of the journey.

In 1999, I moved from Boston-where I worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings-to the Bay Area. I work as a clinical consultant for the Women’s Cancer Resource Center where I have an office and lead a support group for women with metastatic cancer and see individuals and families.

I also lead an ongoing biweekly breast cancer group at Summit Hospital in Oakland and two support groups weekly at Eden Hospital in Castro Valley.

I am pleased to be a member of the Leadership Council at the American Cancer Society and to serve on the Speaker’s Bureau.
